When we recommend this product

In cold climate temperatures the Energy Savers heat a capacity of 56sq.m. for a gas input of 23MJ/h and the larger Energy Saver heater heats to 89sq.m. capacity using 37MJ/j. The flued space heaters heat 70sq.m for 30MJ/j for the Ultima II Inbuilt system. The difference between the two styles are that Energy Savers use a warm air flow, while the flued systems are a radiant heat.

Consideration of gas availability and cost is important when comparing wood and gas heating, although both are preferable to electric heaters in terms of greenhouse gas pollution. The price of bottled gas in the Swan Hill area varies considerably where pay on the day rates are (@ July 2011) between $91 - $97/bottle. The size of the room and the amount of gas required are important to consider when choosing a heating system. Gas is one of the most greenhouse friendly fuel sources available. The better insulated your home, the lower the set temperatures, the less gas you will use, saving money and reducing your impact on the environment.

How to get the most from this product

Rinnai climate zones relate directly to "heats up to" capacities and are guidelines based on a well insulated home with carpets, wall and ceiling insulation and curtains on windows. A detailed Heater Selector is available on Rinnai's website which assists in calculating heat loss factors. Take into account features such as high ceilings, polished floorboards and large uncovered windows and then select the appropriate Rinnai appliance.
